Mount Ilice

This excursion leads us to discover and visit a very interesting place, on the south side of the highest active volcano in Europe. Starting on horseback from the “Ardichetto stables”, through country lanes, you reach the entrance to the woods and climb up to “Mount Ilice” an ancient volcanic cone inactive, the inside is covered by a dense vegetation. Along the edge of the volcano you will be enchanted by the beautiful view of the coast. From here you can also admire all the other volcanic cones that are located on the slopes of Mount Etna, “Monte Serra” small prehistoric cone densely covered with vegetation and orchards, especially vineyards, behind it we’ll see “Mount Gorna”, supposedly of early historical era (maybe 7th century B.C.) We will ride downhill for paths, sometimes steep, but very suggestive, until you get to the stable.
